Palazzo Italia - Rome (RM), Piazza Guglielmo Marconi n. 25
Redevelopment of Palazzo Italia located in the EUR district of Rome
Palazzo Italia, an elegant building rich in history and prestige, has undergone an important enhancement intervention carried out by Ediltecno Restauri. Located in the monumental district of the Eur, Palazzo Italia was erected in 1960 as a portion of the original "Italian Complex" overlooking Piazza Marconi. Designed by architect Luigi Mattioni (1914 - 1961) Palazzo Italia has always been identified with its façade in which the alternation of the metal pilasters dialogued with the blackout aluminum panels. This enhancement and redevelopment project, which was submitted to the opinion of the superintendency, in fact, recovers the hierarchy of the components of the facade system, through the complete replacement of the external envelope. This has a threefold objective to renew the aesthetics of the building, ensure energy savings and allow greater control of brightness within the spaces Palazzo Italia has obtained LEED certification, Gold level, from the Green Building Council.
